That would be a lot of fun in a Corvette or a Camero.
And bonus points for calling it Project Spinal Tap.

11K RPM 3800 V6 in a Fiero and call it Spinal Tarp?

No kidding, and still brought the v8 torque.

Sounds like a good engine for one of those Flying Miata builds...

I’d be more concerned about the whole thing letting go at 11 grand just inches from my skull. Good shielding would be a must!

Though it would be awesome, I'd argue no. 900+ hp would be completely uncontrollable in a Miata without completely ruining what a Miata is. 450ish seems to be the tipping point.

That is incredible. He said peak power is around 9400-ish RPMs, would something else need to be upgraded to get even more power up to the 11,000 RPM mark? Or is this just a limitation of how much fuel/air can get into the engine?
Ultimately , we need more cars with five digit redlines.

If I was guessing, and I’m by no means an engine tuner, it’
s running out of air. Nothing that a little forced induction couldn’t cure.

I’m in agreement on the HP level. What I’d like to see is a very short stroke aluminum LS, say around 3.5 or 4 liters, with that 11,000 RPM valve train. It wouldn’t be anywhere near 900 HP, and wouldn’t have buckets of torque, but in a Miata it would be just fine TBH . While we’re going crazy, might as well make it a flat-plane crank, making it sound even more Italian.

I honestly love the fact that it’s a 900+HP NA build. Plus, it’s an LS7. It would feel wrong to boost it.
And yeah, he said he fully expected it to run out of air past 9k.

So basically, the C8.R engine.
